Initiated in 2000 parallel to the festival Old stories, the residences crossed in literature and contemporary art have the role to cause, help and develop plural creation. These residences are thought as of the space times during which an author meets during one definite time an artist and conceives with him a creation project.

During each residence of the meetings are organized between the invited authors and artists and the Aquitanian public in order to give him the possibility of approaching the creation from the point of view of its design and its advance.

Each production is presented to the public at the time of the Ritournelles festival. It is then diffused by Permanences of the literature in France or abroad.
